Kids Play FORE Kids is a fund raising golf event for KIDS ONLY! The event is open to all kids, not just junior golfers. Kids are encouraged to ask friends and siblings to join the fun, even if they have never played golf before. The more kids the better!

Continuing its work to promote the game and improve the lives of children through golf, the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation conducted the 2nd annual Kids Play FORE Kids fundraising event on Friday, August 10 at Firewheel Golf Park in Garland, Texas.

Through the efforts of the participants and their parents and friends, the event raised over $61,000 for the NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation and Make-A-Wish® North Texas. Holden Wisener of Garland was the leading fundraiser at $5,205 and Kyle Mahan of Midland finished second by raising $5,015 for a combined total of $10,220! The grand prize for the leading fundraiser was a trip to the 2012 Ryder Cup. Because both participants gave such a great effort, the NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation awarded two grand prizes and both Holden and Kyle will receive a trip, including airline tickets, hotel and grounds passes to the Ryder Cup Matches set for September 28-30 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.

“For it to be just our second year conducting Kids Play FORE Kids, I could not be more pleased with the outcome. The day was fantastic, and the kids and their parents worked extremely hard to achieve this total, and we are certainly humbled. A special congratulations to Holden and Kyle who exceeded all expectations,” said Mark Harrison, Executive Director of the Northern Texas PGA. “We love that we are able to create such a neat environment of having fun while golfing as well as contribute to such wonderful organizations who do such great things for our North Texas community.”

Kids Play FORE Kids is a golf event for kids only. The 9-hole scramble event had 117 participants, ranging in age from 6-17. The event was full of specialty holes and activities to better emphasize the fun of golf and fundraising.
